The new capacitors are designed for 250 VAC with capacitances from 10 to 15 µF and for 450 VAC with capacitances from 1.2 to 6 µF. Their service life is specified at up to 10,000 hours within a temperature range of -25 to 85°C. The windings of these capacitors are self-healing. All types in the MotorCap DM series are available in safety classes P0 and P2 and are UL approved.
These capacitors are suitable for use in household appliances such as washing machines, dishwashers, and refrigerators, as well as in compressors, air conditioners, pumps, and awning drives. They can also be used as outlet filters in UPS systems.

MotorCapTM DM EPCOS Capacitors
TDK-EPC, a TDK Corporation company, introduces the EPCOS MotorCap™ DM series, very compact motor capacitors. The new encapsulation technology, in which the capacitor film winding is directly molded into the plastic, results in significant space savings.
This allows for a significant reduction in capacitor dimensions: now between 24 x 43 mm and 29 x 43 mm (diameter x length); this represents a volume reduction of up to 44% compared to conventional capacitors. Furthermore, the MotorCap™ DM series capacitors are also distinguished by their fully hermetically sealed encapsulation.
