Compared to traditional induction motors, brushless DC (BLDC) motors offer several advantages, including high efficiency, compact size, light weight, long lifespan, quiet operation, and easy control.
Leveraging their variable frequency drive capabilities, manufacturers of end-product systems prioritize them as the optimal solution for achieving effective energy savings when replacing traditional motors.
MEAN WELL introduces a new product line: the VFD Series, an industrial variable frequency drive for brushless DC motors, developed after three years of market research and technological innovation. This series includes eight models covering both AC and DC input voltages, as well as two types of PCB boards and an encapsulated housing format. These devices will be distributed in Spain and Portugal by Electrónica OLFER.
The units feature integrated PFC (AC input models only) with power ratings ranging from 150 to 750W, standard control signals, and sensors, allowing for motor speed and braking adjustments, as well as programming via an external control board.
The VFD series features a fanless design, ensuring quiet operation with maximum efficiency of up to 93% and providing a maximum peak current of 200%.
These drives have built-in comprehensive protection functions, complying with international safety standards such as IEC/EN61800-5-1 and electromagnetic compatibility standards IEC/EN61800-3.
They are suitable for end systems and products using brushless DC (BLDC) motors, including those used in applications such as fans and AC systems, fume extraction equipment, water pumps, AGVs, power tools, automatic doors, mechanical equipment, conveyors, medical devices, fitness equipment, and more.
