The Atmel SMART SAMA5D2 series is a high-performance, efficient embedded MPU based on the ARM Cortex-A5 processor. The device features an advanced user interface and peripheral connectivity. Enhanced security is provided by cryptographic accelerators, ARM TrustZone technology that guarantees access to sensitive memory and peripherals, and various hardware features that protect memory contents, authenticate software reliability, detect physical attacks, and prevent data leakage during code execution.
Connectivity peripherals include a 10/100 EMAC, USBs, CAN-FDs, FLEXCOMs, UARTs, SPIs and two QSPIs, SDIO/SD/e.MMCs, and TWIs/I2C.
The SAMA5D2 devices feature three selectable software low-power modes: "Sleep," "Wait," and "Backup." They also include an event system that allows peripherals to receive, react to, and send events in both active and sleep modes without processor intervention.
