The new congatec conga-TCV2, powered by the new Ryzen Embedded V2000 processor, impresses with up to a 2x generational increase in performance per watt, twice the number of CPU cores compared to previous generations, and only 76% the size of its predecessor in a 100% pin-compatible form factor.

The AMD Ryzen Embedded V2000 SoC integrates AMD Radeon graphics, with up to 7 GPU compute units. The performance-per-watt improvements of the new "Zen 2" cores used by the CPU are based on 7nm manufacturing process technology. Architectural optimization also contributes an estimated 15% more instructions per clock cycle to this improvement.

With up to 8 cores and 16 threads in a single BGA footprint, the new Computer-on-Modules are excellent candidates for digitization and edge parallel processing analytics—including workload balancing and consolidation enabled by virtual machines based on congatec's Real-Time System (RTS) hypervisor implementations.

Other application areas include all standard embedded applications, ranging from industrial box PCs and thin clients to embedded computing systems with impressive computational and graphics performance. Further applications include intelligent robotics, electric mobility, and autonomous vehicles that utilize deep learning to optimize their situational awareness.

The new high-performance conga-TCV2 Type 6 pinout COM Express Compact modules are based on the latest AMD Ryzen Embedded V2000 multi-core processors and will be available in four different versions (see table).

These modules offer up to twice the compute performance per watt and twice the number of cores compared to the previous generation. Thanks to symmetric multiprocessing capabilities, they also deliver exceptionally high parallel processing performance with up to 16 cores. The modules feature 4 MB of L2 cache, 8 MB of L3 cache, and up to 32 GB of fast, low-power, dual-channel 64-bit DDR4 memory with speeds up to 3200 MT/s and ECC support for maximum data security. Integrated AMD Radeon graphics with up to 7 compute units remain compatible with applications and use cases requiring high-performance graphics computing.

The COM conga-TCV2 module supports up to four independent displays with resolutions up to 4K60 UHD over three DisplayPort 1.4/HDMI 2.1 ports and one LVDS/eDP port. Other performance-oriented interfaces include one PCIe 3.0 x8 slot and eight PCIe Gen 3 lanes, two USB 3.1 Gen 2 ports, eight USB 2.0 ports, up to two SATA Gen 3 ports, one Gigabit Ethernet port, eight GPIO I/Os, SPI, LPC, and two legacy UART ports provided by the onboard controller.

Supported hypervisors and operating systems include the RTS Hypervisor, Microsoft Windows 10, Linux/Yocto, Android Q, and Wind River VxWorks. For security-critical applications, the integrated AMD Secure Processor assists with hardware-accelerated encryption and decryption of RSA, SHA, and AES. TPM support is also included.
