The Digi XBee Global Cellular 3G Integrated Modem, available from Mouser Electronics, operates on a supply voltage between 2.7V and 5.5V and provides low-power listening and hibernation modes optimized for battery-powered applications. This modem employs the Digi TrustFence™ security framework, featuring Secure Boot, encrypted security keys, secure JTAG, and SSL/TLS 1.2 cryptographic protocols. For added convenience and ease of management, all security and feature updates are delivered via over-the-air (OTA) firmware updates.
This programmable modem allows the use of custom MicroPython applications that run directly on the board, enabling users to manage their devices more efficiently and potentially eliminating the need for external microcontrollers. It also includes the full range of standard frameworks for Digi XBee's APIs and AT commands, allowing existing customers to simply integrate this modem into their designs for immediate 3G connectivity without the hassle of a complete redesign.
