IDT’s new Qi-based transmitter and receiver reference kit makes it easy and affordable to integrate wireless charging into compact electronics for designs of 3W or less, such as smartwatches, earbuds, health and fitness trackers, and wearable medical devices. Building on the success of IDT’s 5W reference kits, the comprehensive WP3W-RK kit enables immediate prototyping, allowing engineers to incorporate wireless charging capabilities into their ultra-compact designs in a matter of hours.
The IDT WP3W-RK Wireless Power Reference Kit, available from Mouser Electronics, is a high-efficiency, turnkey reference design that can aid design efforts and enable rapid prototyping. Suitable for applications ranging from 0.5 to 3 W, the reference kit consists of a P9235A-R transmitter and a P9027LP-R receiver, with three different coil size options to support various applications, form factors, and power levels. Offering a peak system efficiency of 80 percent at 3 W, the kit provides seamless integration with the supplied drop-in reference design and an optimized thermal design.
The kit's associated layout module allows for direct installation to a motherboard, while a streamlined and fully tested bill of materials (BOM) eliminates guesswork in component selection. Furthermore, an extensive digital library of design guides, schematics, Gerber files, and more removes traditional design and support barriers, regardless of application volume.
