The SBC Pi 5 is an affordable and easy-to-use solution for applications such as home automation, industrial automation, edge computing, robotics, and surveillance.
The Raspberry Pi 5 single-board computer, now available from Mouser, is the first full-size Raspberry Pi computer built with in-house developed silicon. The RP1 I/O controller chip improves interaction and increases transfer speeds to external USB Attached SCSI (UAS) drives and other high-speed peripherals. The new high-performance SBC is based on Broadcom's quad-core BCM2712 64-bit Arm® Cortex®-A76 system-on-a-chip (SoC), running at 2.4 GHz. The Pi 5 SBC includes a microSD card slot that supports high-speed SDR104 mode and a high-speed single-lane PCI Express 2.0 interface, compatible with high-bandwidth peripherals. The SBC has two USB 3.0 ports that support simultaneous operation at 5 Gbps, in addition to two USB 2.0 ports. The Pi 5 also includes a VideoCore VII GPU compatible with OpenGL ES3.1, with dual HDMI 4Kp60 display output that supports HDR. Two 1.5Gbps, four-lane MIPI transceivers allow users to connect up to two cameras or displays.
The Pi 5 is available in 4GB and 8GB versions and includes Bluetooth® 5.0 with Bluetooth Low Energy, dual-band Wi-Fi®, and Gigabit Ethernet, giving users the flexibility to choose between wired and wireless connectivity. In addition, the Pi 5 expands its Power over Ethernet (PoE) support, enabling power delivery via Ethernet, and also features a USB Type-C port for alternative power sources.
