The CompactPCI PlusIO F26L board is the latest member of Intel's Scalable CPU board family. It is based on the latest Intel Atom Apollo Lake-I processor, available in dual-core or quad-core configurations. Thanks to its low-power architecture, the CPU board has a total power consumption of only 6.5 to 12 watts, while maintaining a clock speed of up to 1.6 GHz. Graphics performance has been further enhanced for the new generation of Apollo Lake.
The F26L's front panel features VGA graphics, two Gigabit Ethernet ports, and two USB 3.0 ports. Additional features such as various UARTs, four USB ports, SATA, and HD audio can be made available via expansion cards.
The F26L supports the CompactPCI PlusIO (PICMG 2.30) specification, meaning it can be used as a standard CompactPCI card or in a hybrid system for controlling CompactPCI and CompactPCI Serial peripherals.
In accordance with the PCIMG 2.30 standard, four USB 2.0 ports, four PCI Express x1 slots, and two Gigabit Ethernet interfaces are accessible via the rear J2 I/O connector.
Designed for extreme temperature applications, the F26L is equipped with a specially designed heatsink that efficiently dissipates heat from the board. This type of application is common in the railway market, industrial automation, and the electrical and energy sectors. Processor thermal monitoring ensures reliable security, along with a monitoring system for the operating system and a Trusted Platform Module (TPM) that encrypts data. The continuously expanding family concept ensures that the CPCI system and its CPU board are future-proofed for long-term technologies.
The F26L operates in Windows 10 and Linux environments, as well as real-time operating systems that support Intel's multi-core architecture. The AMI UEFI BIOS was specifically designed for embedded systems.
