The SBC347D is specifically designed for military/aerospace applications that demand high-performance embedded computing (HPEC), such as command and control, ISR, signal processing, radar/sonar, and electronic warfare.
The higher level of integration of the Intel® Xeon® D 1500 series processor provides additional board space, allowing the SBC347D to support twice the memory of the SBC347A with its Intel Core i7™ processor. The SBC347D features up to 32 GB of DDR4 ECC memory, operating at speeds up to 2.0 MHz, enabling superior memory performance. It also offers 32 GB of NAND Flash (SSD), 32 MB of BIOS Flash, and 16 MB of BIOS backup flash memory.
Of particular interest is the SBC347D's proposition, similar to the SBC328, to enable customers to implement their security and information assurance strategies. This is achieved through a secure FPGA solution that offers inherent reliability and security features, such as protection against Differential Power Analysis (DPA) attacks and Single Event Interruption (SEU) attacks, as well as a range of tamper detection, encryption, and zeroing features, which can be implemented by the user.
Additional security is provided in line with that offered by the previous generation of Abaco Systems SBCs in the form of Intel® Trusted Execution Technology, which is also implemented in the SBC347D and is expected to support TPM revision 2.0.
The SBC347D is designed to deliver maximum PCIe® bandwidth to the backplane, with a total of 20 PCIe lanes (x4 and x16 ports) via connectors P1 and P2. The x16 link is ideal for connecting high-performance GPGPU modules, such as the GRA112 and GRA113.
Existing SBC34X systems can be easily upgraded via pin-out options that allow for increased performance at minimal cost and without disruption.
The SBC347D benefits from the support of GE's AXIS Advanced Multiprocessor Integrated Software development environment, which enables the rapid creation and testing of sophisticated HPEC applications, reducing risk, cost, and time to market. It is also backed by Abaco's market-leading programs designed to provide the long-term support necessary for multi-year/decade-long program development.
A selection of powerful software is planned for the SBC347D, including a chain of trust for secure boot; Open Linux® (Fedora), Red Hat Enterprise Linux, VxWorks® 7 including the virtualization profile, Windows 10; deployment testing software: FSP* BIT enabled (PBIT function) and BCS (CBIT and IBIT function); P2P (PCI Express® Peer-to-Peer protocol) for Linux.
