It is available in 1.75 or 3 millimeters in diameter. igus tribo filaments are up to 50 times more abrasion-resistant than materials traditionally used in 3D printers.
igus has also recently launched the low-cost, solid plastic drylin RJ4JP bearing. The wear-resistant igus iglidur J4 plastic bearing has the dimensions of the compact so-called "Japanese standard," which has become a popular size for linear guides in 3D printers. Like all products in the drylin linear and drive systems, the new solid plastic bearing operates entirely without external lubrication or maintenance. This translates into significant cost advantages because downtime is avoided, as it is free from lubrication and maintenance.
Fully assembled drylin E linear actuators are already a standard component. They are delivered with an electric motor already mounted in a variety of configurations and can be installed immediately. In addition to bearings, lead screws, guides, and linear sliding bearings, igus also offers compact cable carrier chains for use in 3D printers. For example, the E2 micro series chains are available in more than 180 different varieties. Whether horizontal, vertical, hanging, or freestanding, circular or lateral, the E2 micro can be mounted in any direction on the chain and machine using various mounting brackets. A chain opener is always included for quick mounting on easy-open models.
