Shuttle's X50 All-in-One PC series now enters its fourth generation since its initial introduction to the market in 2009, and focuses on the highly valued 15.6-inch (39.6 cm) format, which is in high demand, especially in the B2B sector.
Unlike previous models, the X50V4 is not equipped with an Intel Atom processor, but instead features a dual-core Intel Celeron 2957U processor clocked at 1.4 GHz per core. However, the compute cores are quite modest, with a power consumption of just 15 watts. At 42 mm thick, the chassis offers space for a 2.5-inch hard drive or SSD and an mSATA module, and for the first time, it can accommodate up to 8 GB of DDR3L SO-DIMM memory. With a suitable SSD installed, the X50V4 is ideal for continuous operation.
The bottom of the casing houses all the usual connections, including 2x USB 3.0, 2x USB 2.0, 1x Gigabit Ethernet, VGA, HDMI, and headphone and microphone jacks. This model also features a handy 2-megapixel webcam, integrated stereo speakers, Wi-Fi, a card reader, and a kickstand that doubles as a handle. The standardized VESA mounting surface allows for attachment to monitor arms and wall mounts, enabling freestanding use of the device.
If necessary, the X50V4 can be equipped on the back with up to four serial ports, in addition to 1x LPT and 1x DIO/RJ11, making it especially attractive for vertical applications.
The IP54 protection rating on the front of the touchscreen indicates its resistance to dust and water splashes, giving the X50V4 enormous resistance to external influences.
Optionally, these accessories can be purchased: POS01 and PCL71 (COM/LPT adapters), in addition to PF55 (case).
