Moxa has launched a new series of high-performance, wireless-ready railway computers, the V2406C series. The V2406C computers comply with EN 50155:2017 and EN 50121-4 standards for onboard and trackside applications in the railway sector. Designed for intensive data processing tasks, the V2406C computers are built around a high-performance Intel® Core™ i7/i5/i3 or Intel® Celeron® processor with up to 32 GB of RAM, an mSATA slot, and two hot-swappable HDD/SSD drives for expanded storage. To ensure reliable connectivity in train-to-ground (T2G) applications, the computers are equipped with two mPCIe wireless expansion slots and four SIM card slots, enabling redundant LTE/Wi-Fi communication and thus ensuring robust bidirectional communication between a fast-moving train and trackside applications. In addition, the pre-installed QMA cable for wireless modules helps reduce installation effort and ensures low RF loss.
The V2406C computers offer connectivity to onboard and trackside systems and devices via numerous interfaces, including two Gigabit Ethernet ports, four RS-232/422/485 serial ports, six DI ports, two DO ports, and four USB 3.0 ports. Additionally, the V2406C computers feature a VGA video output and an HDMI output supporting 4K resolution.
