"However, if the application requires an additional custom front glass, assembly using a conventional optical bonding process is very difficult or even impossible due to the missing frame. Here, our VacuBond® Optical Bonding solution offers the right solution." Its effectiveness has been proven by successful certifications in various customer applications across the automation, automotive, avionics, rail, ground vehicle, military, and outdoor sectors.

A custom-designed front glass, for example, with a printed logo or a colored frame, makes the finished product visually appealing. It also protects the touchscreen from external factors such as weather and vandalism. VacuBond® allows for the bonding of a custom protective glass to the PCAP surface because a stop for the wet bonding process is unnecessary. During the VacuBond® process, the high-quality Opto alpha-gel securely bonds the touchscreen to the protective glass without any heat or other potentially damaging influences. Furthermore, the optical bond increases resistance to mechanical stresses such as vibrations and shocks; the silicone gel protects against vibration resonances and dissipates impact energy. Closing the air gap between the touchscreen and the protective glass reduces light refraction. This significantly improves screen readability without increasing brightness and, consequently, power consumption. Furthermore, neither dust nor moisture can penetrate or accumulate, thus jeopardizing the optical print.
