The new BCL 200i is a 1D barcode reader that integrates industrial interfaces and is easily configured via PROFINET. The device can be configured from the controller using a GSDML file. Its compact design makes it ideal for applications in confined spaces, such as on or between conveyor lines. Along with its small dimensions, this type of installation is further simplified by the device's side exit and dovetail connection.
The new BCL 200i is designed for 1D barcode detection in guided container reading, regardless of whether the barcode is printed vertically or horizontally on the label. It is also suitable for guided tray identification when multiple moving trays have horizontal markings with 1D barcodes. The device features Ethernet TCP/IP and PROFINET interfaces. The web-based configuration tool enables remote diagnostics from anywhere in the world.
The integrated code reconstruction technology (CRT) allows the BCL 200i to read small barcodes and damaged or dirty labels. The CRT decoder can also read barcodes with a large rotation angle. The resulting reduction in reading errors increases system availability.
Thanks to the automatic reflector activation (autoReflAct) function, the new fixed barcode reader can be activated without an additional sensor system. This is achieved by aiming the reader with a narrow beam at a reflector mounted behind the conveyor line. When the reader is pointed at the reflector, the reading door remains closed. If the reflector is obstructed by an object, such as a container with a barcode, the reader initiates the reading procedure and reads the label on the container. The reading procedure ends as soon as the reflector is no longer obstructed.
