As part of this launch, the company has also announced that it is creating a new community with technology leaders and alliances to maximize benefits for its customers.
Innovation at Every Level: Technology and Collaboration
The main technology companies collaborating to make the new generation of EcoStruxure possible are:
Microsoft: Schneider Electric leverages the Microsoft Azure cloud platform to deliver its digital services, applications, and analytics. Azure is the cloud backbone for EcoStruxure, facilitating technology development on the platform. "Schneider Electric relies on Microsoft Azure IoT technology to rapidly scale solutions across public, private, and hybrid clouds," said Sam George, Director of Microsoft Azure IoT at Microsoft Corp. "We are committed to working together to deliver new digital services that leverage their extensive end-market expertise." One such digital service, Conext 2 Advisor, is a secure monitoring and control solution for managing and optimizing the performance of solar power plants. It is delivered as a cloud-based Azure service, accessible from PCs or mobile devices.
Intel: Schneider Electric leverages Intel's Field Programmable Gateway Arrays (FPGAs) to power its sensors, devices, networks, and cloud. Intel FPGAs enhance the performance, power, and flexibility of the EcoStruxure architecture to enable smarter operations.
In this environment, new collaborations are continually emerging with specialized technology providers, such as Zuora, and with other industry leaders like Panasonic, enabling the delivery of new technologies, new services, new business models, and greater added value for customers.
Furthermore, Schneider Electric serves on the board of directors of the Industrial Internet Consortium and the Thread Group, working with other leading organizations to accelerate the growth and development of IoT architectures and standards for industrial and home automation.
Innovation at Every Level:
Schneider Electric is expanding its innovation community for each end market. Each community includes open access for an ecosystem of developers and data scientists, as well as hardware and service partners, to create or co-create solutions and applications for EcoStruxure. These communities include the portfolio of companies involved in the Silicon Valley Innovation Program, such as Planet Ecosystem, Digital Lumens, and OhmConnect, which have already begun integrating their IoT solutions into the EcoStruxure architecture and platform.
