Braccio is a desktop robotic arm that connects to an Arduino board to control its functions. Designed for greater versatility, users can assemble Braccio in different ways to meet the requirements of their application.
It incorporates six servomotors to control its position, allowing it to pick up, move, and hold objects—for example, a camera or phone to record a conference, or a solar panel to track the sun. It has a payload capacity of up to 400 grams, and at a working distance of 32 cm, it supports a maximum weight of 150 grams.
Ideal for technology and academic projects, the Arduino TinkerKit allows you to create Arduino-based prototypes without the need for universal boards or soldering irons. It's easy to assemble and includes sensors and actuators that quickly connect to the interface and control board.
TinkerKit Braccio is compatible with various Arduino control boards: UNO, UNO SMD, UNO WiFi, Due, Mega 2560, Ethernet, Leonardo, Leonardo ETH, M0, M0 Pro, Yun, and Tian. Furthermore, by using an Arduino UNO WiFi, Ethernet Leonardo, Yun, or Tian board, the Braccio can be controlled via a PC or smartphone.
Rob Maycroft, Global Product Manager at RS Components, commented: "This product enhances robotics-related skills. It's a flexible model, allowing new functionalities to be added as needed.".
TinkerKit Braccio is sold in kits priced at €219.10 and requires assembly. Instructions are included in the installation guide (inside the box) and can also be downloaded.
