To achieve this, the performance of systems based on quadruped dynamic robots has been improved. These robots are capable of overcoming obstacles and accessing locations that might be inaccessible to other types of robots traditionally used in logistics or manufacturing environments.
For proof-of-concept testing and development, Alisys robotics engineers have worked with some of the world's most advanced quadruped robots, such as the V60 robot from Ghost Robotics and the Spot Explorer and Spot Enterprise robots from Boston Dynamics—companies for which Alisys is an official certified partner in Spain and Portugal.

IoT and AI are also becoming part of the advances in robotics.
Throughout the project, new digital capabilities in automated inspection and surveillance have been researched and validated through technologies based on robotics, artificial intelligence (AI), augmented reality and the Internet of Things (IoT), including intelligent perception and interaction with the environment, autonomous navigation in dynamic environments, collaborative mission planning and teleoperation assisted by digital technologies.

“The techniques explored by this project include the incorporation of Internet of Things devices that expand the capabilities of perceiving the environment, beyond the reach of the sensors onboard robots,” they explain.

This is achieved because the information collected by these devices, along with the system's internal status, is processed by AI models and collaborates in planning and decision-making related to inspection tasks.
This combination gives the system developed in INSPECT4.0 a level of situational awareness and problem-solving capabilities similar to that of human supervisors, surpassing them in accuracy, efficiency, and repeatability. The result could set new standards for industrial inspection operations in the future, with the potential to increase facility safety and significantly reduce the risks associated with these tasks.

This project is part of the mission of the recovery, transformation and resilience plan to promote the development of solutions based on artificial intelligence and data and their incorporation into production processes of value chains, an initiative promoted by Red.es and financed by the European Union.
