As a new feature, both sensors allow for flexible configuration of fields of view: in addition to the symmetrical viewing angle, asymmetrical and corridor-type viewing angles can also be configured. This advancement ensures the reliability of PSENradar in various production environments and frees up production space, especially in confined areas, such as adjacent machines without separation or walkways next to machines. Customizing the field of view allows the radar sensor to be positioned in a way that does not restrict production tasks and improves safety in demanding environments, as well as productivity.

radar, connected to the FSoE protocol
, and the configurable PNOZmulti 2 microcontroller from Pilz form a complete and reliable solution for monitoring protected areas. Furthermore, they include secure data transfer with FSoE over the EtherCAT communication system. The new PSENradar radar system evaluation device supports FSoE functionality for safety applications up to SIL 3 according to IEC 61508. As the FSoE-MainInstance (FSoEMaster), the PNOZmulti 2 centralizes the monitoring of all safety functions of a radar application in a single device and provides secure connections to FSoE SubordinateInstances (FSoE-Slaves) on the network. The complete system, consisting of the secure PNOZmulti 2 microcontroller operating as the FSoE-MainInstance and the secure radar system, enables the implementation of this secure network connection.
