The new Simatic Energy Suite engineering tool allows companies to link energy consumption values in production plants with their automation processes. The energy consumption of production components, such as drives, controls, and even entire machines, is recorded, checked, and displayed in real time, for example, on a Simatic HMI panel or in the Simatic WinCC SCADA (supervisory control and data acquisition) system. The recorded energy data can then be linked to production data.
Simatic Energy Suite is suitable for Siemens Sirius and Simocode series energy metering components (low-voltage controls), Sentron (low-voltage power distribution), as well as Simatic and Sinamics (automation and drives), such as Simatic energy meters. Measuring instruments from other manufacturers are integrated via open interfaces, for example, the input modules of the Simatic S7-1500 controller. Integrated within the TIA Portal V14 engineering environment, data logging with Simatic Energy Suite is easy to configure and quick to implement. Users require very little time and prior experience to become familiar with the system.
