How can I design a 4-switch buck-boost DC-DC converter using GaNFETs when there are no dedicated GaNFET controllers?
Answer:
GaNFETs are very difficult to control and may require additional protection components if a controller designed for silicon (Si) MOSFETs is used. However, by carefully selecting the correct control voltage and using small protection circuits, safe, all-in-one, high-frequency GaN control can be achieved for a 4-switch buck-boost controller.
