The lighting sector in Spain grew by 5.8% in 2017, with a turnover of €1.441 billion, according to data provided by the Spanish Association of Lighting Manufacturers (ANFALUM). In the domestic market, the sector's growth was even stronger, reaching €953 million, a 6.1% increase over the previous year. Exports, which account for 34% of total turnover, increased by 5.2%, making them a key focus for Spanish lighting companies. ANFALUM will once again have a prominent presence at the upcoming edition of MATELEC, the International Electrical and Electronics Industry Solutions Exhibition, organized by IFEMA from November 13th to 16th at the Feria de Madrid (Madrid Trade Fair), under the ePower&Building umbrella.
MATELEC Lighting:
The positive figures for the sector are boosting business for companies, as will be evident at MATELEC, the International Exhibition of Solutions for the Electrical and Electronic Industry. This event has become the leading trade fair in Southern Europe for the electrical, electronic, and telecommunications sectors.
MATELEC will have three distinct areas: MATELEC, MATELEC LIGHTING, and MATELEC INDUSTRY, each addressing the key issues that concern its respective segment and will shape its future. The more traditional section of MATELEC will include, among other important aspects, new features this year such as electric vehicles, electric mobility, and self-consumption; MATELEC LIGHTING will focus on lighting and illumination; and MATELEC INDUSTRY will be heavily focused on Industry 4.0, digitalization, and IoT to increase the productivity of our country's industrial sector.
