As part of the agreement, Blaize and LeiShen are building a sensor fusion solution that combines LeiShen's Lidar technology with AI processing in Blaize's Pathfinder P1600 embedded AI accelerator.
“LeiShen is committed to making driving safer, robots smarter, and life better with advanced, stable, and reliable LiDAR sensing technology,” said Hu Xiaobo, founder and CEO of LeiShen Intelligence. “The collaboration with Blaize will not only help customers make better use of LiDAR but will also enable safer, more reliable, and more powerful intelligent sensing applications for autonomous driving and smart city projects.”
“LeiShen’s innovative intelligent LiDAR sensing technology and Blaize’s products built on our Graph Streaming Processor® (GSP®) architecture are an ideal match for enabling safer and more reliable autonomous operation,” commented Dinakar Munagala, CEO and co-founder of Blaize. “We look forward to working with LeiShen to serve the market by providing better optimized, more efficient, and more cost-effective solutions for electrification, vehicle safety, infotainment, and other intelligence applications.”
The Blaize GSP architecture allows the concurrent execution of multiple neural networks and complete workflows on a single system, uniquely enabling the construction of end-to-end applications by integrating non-neural network functions such as Image Signal Processing and Lidar with neural network functions.
LeiShen boasts a strong LiDAR research and development capability. It is the only LiDAR company that has mastered all four principles of LiDAR scoping—flight-in-time, triangulation, phase, and FMCW—and has independently developed the 1550nm fiber laser and its core components. In April 2021, LeiShen launched the world's second hybrid solid-state LiDAR and the first officially certified for vehicles in China, the CH32. Additionally, LeiShen launched the ch128x1 128-wire hybrid solid-state LiDAR for vehicles.
Blaize and LeiShen will jointly promote autonomous driving and smart city projects based on LiDAR technology. The Blaize Pathfinder P1600 AI accelerator embedded in LeiShen's advanced automotive-grade LiDAR can process LiDAR point cloud data and related algorithms more efficiently. With the built-in optimized sensor fusion algorithm, the Lidar can directly output the results of the target data, providing powerful sensor fusion solutions for autonomous driving and smart city projects.
