Current is backed by GE's track record and financial expertise. It integrates several GE businesses: LED lighting, solar energy, energy storage, and electric vehicles—a offering currently lacking in the industry. The portfolio includes system activation sensors, software applications, production line management, and financial solutions.  
Taking the helm of the new company in Europe and the Middle East, Peter will lead Current toward new energy efficiency models that will help our customers transform how they manage their energy consumption.  
Through Predix, GE's Industrial Internet (cloud) platform, Current will analyze energy consumption and provide insights into patterns and models, along with recommendations for increasing efficiency—from reducing peak consumption to generating electricity and creating new revenue streams through the use of sensors and network systems. These solutions will save our customers between 10 and 20 percent on their energy bills and help our public sector partners better distribute their energy load.  
Peter Lau will lead Current's operations from the new European office located in "The Ark" in London. This location, recognized as a business hub for startups and technology companies, was chosen. “Current represents the efficient integration of hardware and software in the market, in a unique way that will forever change the landscape of energy supply,” says Peter. “I look forward to helping our customers create robust strategies that allow them to take the next step toward their business goals, while simultaneously reducing costs and transforming how industry selects and consumes energy.”  
 
Peter brings more than 15 years of experience in commercial and operational management at GE. Most recently, Peter served as General Manager of Global Supply and LED Lighting, where he developed the new ecosystem of partner companies and prioritized customer engagement.
