The automotive industry is facing a dramatic shift due to many disruptive technologies. The number of sensors and the amount of data that must be processed by the decision-making units in vehicles using ADAS is increasing the complexity of development, simulation, and testing. In addition to the complexity associated with the technical limitations of different sensor emulation implementations, there is the difficulty of integrating them into a comprehensive and complete environment due to the lack of standardized interfaces.
Keysight, IPG Automotive, and Nordsys have established a multi-year collaboration to create a solution— the Autonomous Driving Emulation (ADE) platform —that will emulate synchronized connections to all relevant sensors in a car, such as the navigation satellite system (GNSS), radar, and vehicle-to-everything (V2X) camera, in a single system.
ADE allows automotive OEMs and their partners to focus on the development and testing of ADAS systems and algorithms, including sensor fusion and decision algorithms. It is an open platform that simplifies integration with commercial 3D modeling, HIL systems, and existing test and simulation environments.
“By combining Keysight’s expertise and knowledge, IPG and Nordsys will provide a solution that will enable their customers to simulate and emulate their components, software, and systems, including sensor fusion and decision algorithms,” said Tom Goetzl, Keysight’s Vice President and General Manager of the Automotive segment.
“Our innovative software solutions allow us to transport real-world test scenarios, including the entire environment, into the virtual world with a high level of detail. We are delighted to introduce this powerful software modeling technology with real-time capabilities at ADE and to participate in this collaboration with Keysight,” commented Steffen Schmidt, Director of IPG Automotive.
“Nordsys creates software-controlled applications focused on the automotive industry, as well as hardware and software solutions for V2X communications. We look forward to bringing this expertise to ADE and to the collaboration with Keysight,” said Manfred Miller, CEO of Nordsys.
