The Linux-based, security-enhanced operating system for peripheral devices and KontronAIShield, the AI-powered cybersecurity tool, enhance Kontron's product portfolio with real-time, AI-driven protection against constantly evolving cyber threats. Data released in July showed that global cyberattacks increased by 21% year-over-year in the second quarter of 2025, with Europe registering the largest increase at 22% compared to the same period the previous year.
This integration ensures that Kontron's more than 3,000 customers in over 20 countries, spanning critical sectors such as manufacturing, energy, healthcare, automotive, and infrastructure, will benefit not only from real-time protection of their device fleet, but also from compliance with international cybersecurity regulations, including RED 3.3, which came into force in August, and the upcoming EU Cyber Resilience Act, which will set requirements for manufacturers regarding vulnerability notification and will come into force in September 2026, before the Act comes fully into force in December 2027.
Stefan Eberhardt, IoT Software Business Developer at Kontron Europe, says:
“With this partnership, we are expanding our cybersecurity portfolio to cover the full spectrum of potential threat scenarios. By going far beyond traditional antivirus and security tools, we are building resilience directly into all integrated products, whether new or existing, creating a new level of trust and protection for our customers, from the edge to the cloud.”
Gianni Cuozzo, founder and CEO of Exein, states:
“We are proud to partner with an IoT industry leader like Kontron to bring device-level cybersecurity to a global scale. By integrating Exein’s technology into Kontron’s trusted platforms, we are creating a new security standard, providing manufacturers and operators with resilience, regulatory compliance, and peace of mind. This partnership marks a turning point for European cybersecurity, as together we are strengthening Europe’s position as a global leader in the security of the connected future.”
