Within this collaboration, Sunny Smartlead presents its camera modules for ADAS (Advanced Driver-Assistance Systems) based on Microchip's VS700 family of ASA-ML devices, designed to make camera development faster, simpler and cheaper for the automotive industry.
This collaboration combines Microchip's ASA ML serializer technology with Sunny Smartlead's expertise in camera modules to help automakers and their Tier 1 suppliers develop secure, high-speed, and standardized camera solutions for software-defined vehicles (SDVs). ASA ML enables an interoperable approach to vehicle connectivity as an alternative to proprietary serializer/deserializer technologies or single-vendor ecosystems.
The most notable features of ASA-ML technology are its security and timing capabilities. The integrated secure element, ASAsec, provides built-in link-layer authentication and encryption to protect data in the vehicle, reduce system complexity, and offload security processing from the main processor. PTB (Precision Time Base) offers highly accurate and deterministic synchronization of all sensors, enabling reliable sensor alignment and making it ideal for sensor fusion applications in advanced ADAS.
This agreement indicates the growing maturity of the ASA-ML ecosystem, giving automakers greater confidence that their partners and suppliers adhere to the standard. Sunny Smartlead's decision to standardize its camera modules using Microchip's ASA-ML solution reflects the increasing validity of the ecosystem and demonstrates its solid foundation for adoption.
