The initiative is part of CoordiNet, a European innovation project involving 23 partners from 7 different countries, which aims to demonstrate how transmission system operators (TSOs) and distribution system operators (DSOs) can act in a coordinated manner to purchase and activate network services, promote cooperation among all stakeholders, and eliminate barriers to active customer participation in the electricity market.

Minsait will contribute Onesait Utilities Prosumers, its platform for the intelligent management of DERs, as the technological basis for the pilot projects that Iberdrola will launch in Albacete, Murcia and Alicante, which add up to about 850 Mw of flexible power, most of it from distributed generation of renewable origin (wind farms and mini-hydro plants).

Minsait's solution enables active demand management, coordinating flexibility between consumption and generation points, and facilitating the generation of selective load modification patterns through the use of intelligent algorithms when a distribution network operator anticipates restrictions in some element.

The solution streamlines coordination between the distribution company's network operator, who anticipates the need by defining the interval and amount of power that it considers to modify, the distribution company's flexibility operator, who registers the operation to respond to the registered need, and the flexibility market manager, who receives the pre-selection of DERS connected to the affected network element.

The process concludes with the matching of bids from pre-selected demand aggregators and DER managers, based on economic criteria. It also facilitates the registration of load curves that each of them must meet during the flexibility event, as well as their monitoring to define billing processes.

Other relevant initiatives in the field of Renewable Generation include its participation in ROMEO, a European project led by Iberdrola that aims to reduce the costs of operation and maintenance in offshore wind farms, as well as the development of an innovative monitoring tool to improve the performance of more than 130 AXPO wind farms, located in 9 European countries.
