Mouser Electronics Inc. has reached an agreement with Marvel to launch the Project Heroes video series, designed to educate and entertain future engineers and fans of the Marvel Universe.Marvel and Mouser bring superhero tech straight from Captain America: Civil War to life in a new video series as part of Mouser’s Empowering Innovation Together™ program. The videos follow Grant Imahara, former MythBusters star, and viral video celebrity Allen Pan as they create working, real-world versions of Captain America’s shield and Iron Man’s gauntlet. The series details the entire build process, from concept to final product, showcasing the real-world possibilities of superhero tech built with new components from Molex and Analog Devices.
“Let’s think about it,” Imahara said. “They’ve made the new Mouser Innovation Lab available to us and asked us to build superhero gear that actually works. It’s a dream.”.
While Grant focuses on building a fully articulated, laser-equipped Iron Man gauntlet, Allen constructs a controllable Captain America shield that can retract into his arm using drone technology. Following this superhero series, the Empowering Innovation Together program will take Grant and Mouser to explore special technology and push the limits of drone capabilities, even 3D printing a car.
