Speaking at Embedded World 2019 at the Mouser booth (111 in Hall 3A) at Nürnberg Messe, Mark Patrick, Technical Marketing Director, EMEA, at Mouser, enthused: “The embedded space is very exciting right now, with the convergence of key technologies such as artificial intelligence, robotics, 5G, IoT across many platforms, advanced computing, Big Data, and cloud computing. With the range of low-cost tools and development platforms available today, along with the availability of crowd-sourced funding, anyone can have a new product up and running in just a few weeks.”

Patrick provided a few examples from Mouser’s nearly 800 vendors’ product range, then went straight to Google. He explained: “The Google AIY Vision Kit is a project to build a smart camera that can recognize objects and detect faces and emotions. Build it, reboot it, and use a variety of image recognition neural networks to customize the Vision Kit for your own creation.”

One of Mouser's new embedded distributions, Medium One, provides a framework for moving sensor data to the cloud, supports a range of different boards, and gives Mouser a vendor-agnostic cloud service designed to accelerate customers' time to market. Medium One's IoT Prototyping Sandbox features programmatic and highly customizable workflows, combined with an IoT-focused library of pre-packaged modules, designed to help early-stage developers design their IoT projects or connect their existing hardware to the cloud. Jumpstart kits combine the prototyping sandbox with select IoT-ready devices, enabling users to more easily connect to the cloud, with hardware and firmware designed for production readiness considering cost, form factor, and application.

The integrated Crowd Supply launch platform supports makers with the critical services they need to successfully deliver their products to their customers. Mouser offers a wide range of Crowd Supply products, including a variety of development tools, test and measurement devices, and expansion boards that embody open design principles.
