The positive outcome of this audit has allowed AIMPLAS laboratories to be the first in Spain to obtain accreditation for organic emissions testing for the automotive sector according to the VDA 278 standard and for other substances of concern under the regulations of vehicle manufacturers.

In addition, the range of accredited tests on recycled materials has also been expanded, so that AIMPLAS now has accredited technical competence to carry out most tests for recycled plastics and plastic waste.

Furthermore, this expansion of the accreditation scope has made it possible to increase the range of tests offered to the aerospace industry. Specifically, tests to determine the thermal, mechanical, and chemical properties of composite materials, which are increasingly used in aircraft manufacturing, have been accredited.

Another new accreditation obtained following this latest audit is for the FIFA-compliant test that determines the UV stabilizer content of artificial turf. This accreditation complements those already held by AIMPLAS laboratories under the FIFA Quality Programme Test Methods Manual, which cover tests for determining synthetic infill using thermogravimetric analysis (TGA), differential scanning calorimetry (DSC), and morphological analysis of artificial turf fibers by optical microscopy.

Finally, it is worth highlighting the usefulness, for a large number of sectors in addition to the automotive industry, of the accreditation of other tests obtained on this occasion. This is the case for gloss and color tests on coatings or plastic surfaces.
