COM-HPC 1.15 is a suite of security extensions that extend the FuSa capabilities of "security island" blocks in modern chipsets to the wider system. Available in all COM-HPC form factors—including the upcoming COM-HPC Client Mini—the COM-HPC FuSa extensions define a dedicated SPI signal that connects the health and status monitoring functions of these blocks to a FuSa "security controller" located on a COM-HPC motherboard, where the results can be processed for external use.
The COM-HPC 1.15 architecture thus enables the creation of mixed-criticality multi-core embedded systems, providing a direct path to redundancy and the implementation of fail-safe processes for developers of robotics and industrial machine controls, train and track controls, autonomous vehicles, avionics, and other critical systems.
