For her part, María Jesús Lorenzana, Minister of Economy and Industry for the Galician Regional Government, highlighted this project as “an absolute success” and emphasized the importance of collaboration among all the relevant institutions to make the operation of 'Bess Sanxenxo' possible. “We are grateful that this is the first project of its kind in Spain and in Galicia. We are the right place because of the policies we are implementing and the qualities of the region,” she added. Meanwhile, Telmo Martín, Mayor of Sanxenxo, praised the commissioning of this energy storage plant in the Nantes business park “as a project for the future,” adding that “it is companies like these that generate wealth.”

Capacity to supply 2,000 homes per year. The plant is part of the 'Bess Sanxenxo' project, which involves the installation of an independent energy storage system using containerized LFP batteries. With 5 MWh of installed power and 20 MWh of storage capacity, the facility can absorb electricity from the grid during periods of low demand, store it, and then return it to the grid when needed. Under complex operating conditions, the project will supply 2,000 homes per year. Innovation for the socioeconomic strengthening of Sanxenxo. The first operational independent energy storage plant in Spain is directly connected to the SET Sanxenxo 20 kV substation. The project is located in the Nantes industrial park because this is a strategic location that provides electrical stability and socioeconomic impetus, in addition to having a minimal environmental impact.
