Designers participating in the challenge can draw on their favorite shows and movies for inspiration and potentially create projects such as:
• A working Ghostbusters trap
• A Star Wars lightsaber
• A recreation of the Stranger Things string lights
• A Star Trek prop tricorder
"Halloween is a great opportunity to showcase creativity, which is something our community loves to do," says Phil Hutchinson, Senior Specialist Community Programs at element14. "We can't wait to see how the community translates something from their favorite movie or show into an original and exciting electronic design.".
To participate in the contest, members must publish a blog post showcasing their project by November 10, 2023, in the Halloween Projects and Videos section. Blog posts with high-quality photos and videos are strongly encouraged. Entries will be judged on both the project and the blog post.
The best entry in "Screen2Scream" will receive the Home Horror Movie Night kit, which includes a home cinema HD projector, a popcorn machine, a scratch-off Top 100 Horror Movies poster, and a collection of classic horror movies on DVD.
