Participants will be required to integrate TDK USSM Plus-FS sensors into a functional project that demonstrates the versatility and accuracy of ultrasonic distance sensing technology. Those selected will receive a TDK evaluation kit, which includes two TDK USSM Plus-FS ultrasonic range sensors, a TDK evaluation board, and a set of sensor connector cables.
Participants are encouraged to explore a range of potential applications of ultrasonic sensing technology, such as object detection, industrial control sensing, human-robot interaction, motion limit control, conveyor belt monitoring, smart delivery robots, autonomous lawnmowers, and liquid level detection.
Andreea Teodorescu, Global Director of Product Marketing & element14 Community, states: "This design competition gives our community the opportunity to explore the power of ultrasonic sensing technology through hands-on experience in real-world applications."
Applications are open until March 28. Once selected, participants will have until June 16 to build their projects. They will need to publish their progress, including the final project and at least five blog posts, before the closing date. Submissions containing images, videos, and code examples will be viewed more favorably.
The first prize winner will receive an 128GB Apple iPad Pro 11-inch (4th generation) and an iRobot Roomba self-emptying robot vacuum; the second prize winner will receive a 64GB iPad Mini 10.9-inch and an iRobot Roomba self-emptying robot vacuum; and the other finalists in the contest (anyone who completes five blog posts and one project featuring the featured product) will receive a MultiComp Pro multimeter set.
