The expansion plans will allow Vertiv to meet its current commitments and respond to the growing demand for data center power infrastructure from customers, particularly for colocation and hyperscale applications, including artificial intelligence (AI) and high-performance computing.
In the two years since acquiring E+I Engineering and PowerBar Gulf, Vertiv has expanded its global manufacturing footprint for distribution panels, power rails, and modular power solutions by opening new facilities and increasing production at existing ones, resulting in more than 1,000 additional production jobs throughout 2023.
Through its expansion plans, Vertiv expects to more than double its production capacity in these product lines over the next two years.
“When we acquired the distribution panel and power rail business to complement our comprehensive power management portfolio for data centers and other critical commercial and industrial applications, we anticipated that the product suite would allow us to deliver greater value and superior solutions for our customers,” explained Vertiv CEO Giordano (Gio) Albertazzi. “With the massive increase in data traffic, amplified by the rapid acceleration of AI, current demand is exceeding the expectations we had at the time of the E+I acquisition. Vertiv is responding to this accelerating demand by investing in capacity in key areas and locations, scaling our operations worldwide, and flexibly meeting future power management demand.”
Albertazzi also emphasized that the acceleration of AI and other high-performance computing applications is driving demand for capacity and innovation across the company’s entire portfolio, including power, thermal management, and prefabricated modular solutions. “The investment in additional capacity across all global regions is aligned with our strategy to support industry growth and build a robust supply chain,” Albertazzi added.
Vertiv is expanding its portfolio of distribution panels, feeder rails, and IMS through increased utilization and expansion of its production facilities in South Carolina (USA), Mexico, Slovakia, the United Arab Emirates, Ireland, and Northern Ireland.
