From raw material manufacturing, through synthesis and compounding, and subsequent transformation via extrusion, injection molding, or composite fabrication,

the project encompasses a comprehensive analysis. It includes the installation of a series of demonstrators based on the Industry 4.0 concept, to be located on the various production lines of AIMPLAS' pilot plants (composites, compounding, extrusion, and injection molding). The collected data will enable the optimization of design and development times for different materials and products, as well as predict the behavior of a new material in a machine without the need for prior testing.

The goal is to serve as a demonstrator for companies in the sector so that, based on their processes, they can evaluate which technologies are suitable for implementation in their facilities. Furthermore, the data collected through monitoring and measuring parameters and properties will feed into the system to generate a robust and reliable architecture that delivers a reliable response to potential end users.

The project involves various companies across the plastics value chain, who have assessed their level of digitalization through a preliminary questionnaire and are also providing relevant information about their main interests, ensuring the demonstrators are useful for all of them. The transfer of knowledge to the entire Valencian plastics industry will be completely free of charge through publicly available reports and deliverables.

In this first year, the project is focused on automatically and centrally recording production data. The ultimate goal is to be able to analyze the results obtained from this data.

The G4ND4LF project is supported by the Conselleria d'Economia Sostenible, Sectors Productius, Comerç i Treball de la Generalitat Valenciana through IVACE, and is co-financed by the EU ERDF funds, within the ERDF Operational Programme of the Valencian Community 2014-2020.
