EZ Removable Splices, part of the EZ-Boardware range of printed circuit board solutions, consist of contact clamps and removable busbars. These surface-mount clamps are supplied in tape and reel packaging for automated placement, while the removable busbars provide the electrical connection between clamps. The system ensures secure retention of the busbars and allows for quick removal and replacement when changing an LED array. The clamps are available in both vertical and horizontal configurations.
These products allow users to automate processes related to the manufacturing and assembly of multiple LED arrays by eliminating manual soldering and/or the use of more expensive conventional connectors. Their innovative design allows for the removal of a specific array if it malfunctions, without affecting adjacent boards, thus facilitating quick and easy maintenance and repairs. The EZ removable connectors occupy minimal space on the board, and their neutral color offers maximum light reflection. They can handle up to 1.5A, making them ideal as a highly effective board connection system.
Paul Gillam, Product Manager, explains: “The alternative to our new EZ pull-out connectors is soldering a bar or wire connection, which is time-consuming and risks damaging the board, or using a male-female connector, which is expensive and makes replacing any module within a complex array virtually impossible. EZ pull-out connectors allow you to quickly connect all four sides of an LED array and can even accommodate misaligned boards.”.
Although their most obvious applications include LED lighting tubes, LED lighting arrays, LED signs and other similar products, EZ pull-out splices are an ideal solution whatever low cost, low profile and separable connection is required.
