Furthermore, the Liam F1 Urban Wind Turbine produces very little noise, all thanks to its outstanding design.
The Liam F1 generates an average of 1,500 kilowatt-hours of energy with a wind speed of 5 m/s, which is equivalent to half the energy consumption of a typical home. Combined with rooftop solar panels, a home can be entirely self-sufficient in meeting its energy needs.
Currently, very few wind turbines are in use for home power generation. One reason for this is the very low efficiency of the current generation of turbines (averaging around 25%), and the excessive noise produced by the blades. This is where Marinus Mieremet, the inventor of the Archimedes wind turbine, has refined the design. By combining the shell shape of the Nautilus, Archimedes' theory, and his own mathematics, he has created a new turbine that offers minimal resistance and is virtually silent.
Due to its screw-like shape, Liam will automatically steer itself towards the optimal wind position, just like a flag, thus achieving maximum performance. According to Mieremet, its performance is 80% of the theoretically maximum.
Liam has been tested more than 50 times because the developers initially couldn't believe the results they saw.
