The GHA700F is designed in accordance with the IEC 60601-1 safety standard, making it suitable for medical body-floating applications. However, its high insulation and creepage distance make it ideally suited for demanding industrial applications, meeting EN61558-2-16 (OVC III) and with a simplified design to comply with EN60335. To power a wide range of bus voltage systems, the GHA700F is available in four output voltages: 24, 30, 48, and 56 VDC, and has a universal input voltage of 85 to 264 VAC. Thanks to state-of-the-art components and power switching topology, the GHA700F offers excellent efficiency of up to 96%.
With the increasing number of medical applications operating in low-noise environments, manufacturers are optimizing equipment to function with limited airflow. To meet these requirements, power supplies must have an optimized design that combines conduction and convection cooling, giving system designers the ability to maximize power supply placement without compromising performance. With extensive experience in designing optimized power solutions with conduction-convection assisted cooling, COSEL has combined the latest power switching topologies, digital power and energy optimization algorithms, silicon carbide, and advanced components to minimize power losses, resulting in a high-efficiency power supply with lower power dissipation, making it possible to achieve a world-leading power density of up to 31.1W per cubic inch.
The GHA700F accepts a universal input voltage of 85 to 264 VAC and delivers up to 700 W in four output versions: 24V/29.2A, 30V/23.3A, 48V/14.6A, and 56V/12.5A. For ease of use, the output voltage can be adjusted using the built-in potentiometer. It includes inrush current limiting, overcurrent protection with automatic recovery when the fault condition is cleared, and overvoltage protection.
The GHA700F can operate in a wide ambient temperature range of -20 to +70 degrees Celsius ambient or up to +80 degrees Celsius chassis. Depending on the final equipment mounting style and cooling conditions, power reduction may be necessary.
The power supply includes an active power factor corrector with a coefficient of up to 0.95. The switching topology and power components have been meticulously selected to deliver maximum efficiency, reaching up to 96% in all versions.
The GHA700F has an input-to-output isolation voltage of 4,000 VAC (2 MOPP), input-to-ground (FG) of 2,000 VAC (1 MOPP), and output-to-ground (FG) of 1,500 VAC (1 MOPP). For body floating applications, the patient leakage current must be less than 100 microamps, a requirement the GHA700F fully meets.
For both medical and industrial applications, the GHA700F has received the following approvals: UL62368-1, EN62368-1, c-UL (equivalent to CAN/CSA-C22.2 No. 62368-1), ANSI/AAMI ES60601-1, EN60601-1 3rd Edition, c-UL (equivalent to CAN/CSA-C22.2 No. 60601-1), and complies with IEC60601-1-2 4th Edition and EN61558-2-16 (OVC III).
In conducted emissions testing, the GHA700F meets FCC-B, VCCI-B, CISPR32-B, EN55011-B, and EN55032-B standards. To further enhance acoustic performance, COSEL offers EAC-16-472 type EMI/EMC filters.
To suit specific application requirements, five options are available: a protective cover (C), a set of sub-features including isolated 5V and 12V auxiliary outputs, remote control, and power good (R3), an M3 threaded mounting hole (T3), connection for an external hold-up unit (U1), and, for applications requiring additional safety, the GHA700F is available with reinforced insulation conforming to IEC Class II (E).
The GHA700F measures 76.2 x 38.1 x 127 mm [3.0 x 1.5 x 5.0 in] (W x H x D) and weighs a maximum of 570 g.
The 700W GHA700F is the third model in COSEL's GHA series, which includes the 300W GHA300F and the 500W GHA500F.
The combination of high insulation, low leakage current, and high quality makes the GHA series an ideal power solution for demanding applications not only in the medical field, but also for testing and measurement, and industrial applications, including household appliances and similar electrical equipment.
The GHA700F comes with a five-year warranty and complies with European RoHS and Low Voltage Directives.
With a power density of 31.1 W per cubic inch, the COSEL GHA700F is one of the highest power density power supplies in its class for powering medical and industrial applications.
