This independent organization selects industry-leading companies and products that demonstrate excellence in innovation, leverage emerging technologies, deliver real value, clear benefits, and support customer return on investment.
Identified by Frost & Sullivan as the modular UPS with the greatest demand potential, this latest award is a testament to Socomec's ongoing commitment to research and development to create designs directly inspired and influenced by evolving customer needs.
Frost & Sullivan noted that while achieving excellence in new product innovation is never easy, it is made even more challenging by today's intense competition, customer volatility, and economic uncertainty, not to mention the difficulty of innovating in an environment of increasing intellectual property challenges.
Genuine modularity in the high-power range – tailored to specific project needs.
The Frost & Sullivan report noted that: “The company has a history of developing products and solutions that perfectly align with current end-user needs, as well as future needs. The philosophy behind the development of this cutting-edge product was to offer end users truly genuine modularity in the high-power range. The product offers the best of both worlds: it provides the highest degree of flexibility for a customized solution while also offering the benefits of standardized equipment, allowing end users to fine-tune the system to match the exact requirements of the project.”
MODULYS XL is based on 200kW power modules, where a single unit can be scaled up to 1.2MW and up to four units can be configured in parallel.
Jordi Riera, Sales Director of Socomec's Critical Power business unit, comments: “With the modular UPS market still growing, there has been an irony in this field, as many solutions have not yet been delivered in terms of true modularity, creating unease around the concept. We wanted to dispel these perceptions and create a completely new generation of high-power modular UPS systems. We have placed the customer and the end user at the heart of this development program and dedicated our R&D efforts to creating products that eliminate these gaps.”
According to Frost & Sullivan: “In designing MODULYS XL, Socomec has taken the utmost care to achieve the optimal level of granularity by striking a perfect balance between mean time between failure and intrinsic redundancy. By doing so, it can effectively eliminate power module losses caused by missing modules or the increased service costs of adding more modules than necessary. MODULYS XL accomplishes all of this while still offering simple and easy service (similar to smaller modules). It provides hot-swapping along with fast, safe, and concurrent maintenance, while maintaining reliability at the highest levels due to its appropriately sized power modules.”
MODULYS XL offers end users the configuration flexibility they need and simplifies the overall process from project definition to full UPS operation, delivering value in terms of product, solution, and process.
