These battery amplifiers are equipped with two high-efficiency DC/DC conversion stages and an intelligent learning algorithm to better manage the relatively high internal resistance and chemical reaction rates typically found in CR2032 and CR2025 3V lithium coin cell batteries. The devices feature a peripheral interface for host communication, configuration, and control. They also include an integrated low-battery indicator/fuel gauge, an auxiliary regulated output jack, and undervoltage protection to prevent the storage capacitor from charging as the battery nears the end of its lifespan.
These battery boosters, which extend the lifespan of high-energy-density lithium primary batteries, are available in a compact 16-pin DHVQFN package. They can be used in applications such as battery-powered wireless IoT nodes (Bluetooth®, LoRaWAN®, Sigfox™, LTE-M, NB-IoT, Zigbee®, etc.), wireless sensors, industrial devices, consumer wearables, and utility meters.
