The new MachXO3-9400 package options offer reduced power consumption with a 1.2V center voltage for thermally sensitive environments, provide expanded FPGA logic resources for motor control and board management functions, and offer a greater number of I/O pins, optimized for server and storage applications. To support customers designing with MachXO3, Lattice is introducing a powerful and flexible evaluation board to support various system architectures, including board management, microcontroller I/O expansion, and video protocol bridging functions.

"The launch of additional low-power options for our MachXO3-9400 devices will enable customers to bring added intelligence to power-sensitive edge applications," said Joel Coplen, product marketing manager at Lattice Semiconductor. "Customers can begin developing a variety of solutions using our MachXO3-9400 evaluation board, including hardware management and I/O expansion, or adding logic functions to embedded microcontrollers.".

The new Lattice device options offer:
• MachXO3-9400E options (1.2V core voltage) with 60% reduced power consumption compared to the MachXO3-9400C variants (3.3V core voltage).
• PIN migration options from the MachXO3-6900, expanding FPGA logic capabilities for factory automation and server board management.
• Up to 384 I/O points: the highest number of I/O points to date in the MachXO3 family.
• It offers the key advantages of the MachXO3 family, such as internal configuration memory, flexible programmable I/O, and embedded memory.

The MachXO3-9400 evaluation board features the MachXO3-9400 control PLD and the Lattice L-ASC10 hardware management expander. The board also includes connectors for Raspberry Pi 3, Arduino Zero, and additional expansion boards. This board is ideal for designers looking to quickly and efficiently implement I/O expansion, coprocessing, motor control, and video bridging in their latest computing and industrial applications.
