The new RAJ2810024H12HPD is available in the small TO-252-7 package, reducing the mounting area by almost 40% compared to the conventional TO-263 package product. Furthermore, the new device's advanced current detection feature enables highly accurate detection of abnormal currents such as overcurrent. Because the new IPD detects abnormal currents even at low loads, it allows engineers to design highly reliable and accurate power control systems capable of detecting even the smallest anomalies.
The new IPD was developed to meet the increasing demands as E/E architectures continue to evolve. In a conventional distributed E/E architecture, battery power is distributed to each electronic control unit (ECU) via long, thick cables from a power supply box consisting of mechanical relays and fuses. IPDs have a longer lifespan and require no maintenance compared to mechanical relays, allowing them to be placed virtually anywhere in the vehicle.
