The MM8108 delivers optimized performance in key areas—range, speed, and energy efficiency—and helps reduce the cost, effort, and development time required to bring next-generation Wi-Fi HaLow-compatible products to market. Wi-Fi HaLow is the first Wi-Fi standard specifically designed for IoT. The MM8108 provides data transfer speeds of up to 43.33 Mbps with an 8 MHz bandwidth in unlicensed sub-GHz bands, incorporating enhancements that enable up to 16 times greater efficiency than conventional Wi-Fi.
The SoC integrates a high-efficiency power amplifier and a high-linearity, low-noise amplifier compliant with the IEEE 802.11ah standard, incorporating complete implementations of the MAC and PHY layers. The RF interface can also be configured with an external power amplifier mounted on the PCB or with an interface module for ultra-long-range applications. All of this is complemented by leading Wi-Fi HaLow security features—WPA3, SAE, and GCMP—ensuring secure and protected link-layer communications.
