Optocouplers offer reliable galvanic isolation against high voltages and potential differences. However, their short switching times (tpHL/tpLH), ranging from 100 ns to 1500 ns, allow the high-speed optocoupler to transmit signals with significantly less delay than conventional optocouplers. Thanks to its high CMTI (Common Mode Transient Immunity), the optocoupler ensures reliable signal transmission even under rapid voltage variations between the input and output in demanding environments with interference. Furthermore, a copper substrate enhances resistance to corrosion and environmental influences, considerably increasing the robustness of the new optocoupler series.
The high-speed optocoupler from Würth Elektronik is suitable for microcontroller, FPGA, and DSP interfaces, as well as serial communication interfaces such as UART, SPI, or RS-232/RS-485. Its applications include signal measurement and control, industrial electronics with high interference levels, medical equipment requiring safe electrical isolation, and automation and PLC systems.
The new optocoupler is now in stock. Free samples are available to designers upon request.
