The assemblies allow original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) and end users to connect high-power electrical currents directly to the application via the external mounting box, simplifying installation in cost-sensitive, high-volume programs. The assemblies meet IP67 and IP69K standards, making them ideal for high-frequency switched-mode power supplies in harsh environments, such as industrial automation, aerospace and military, alternative energy, and commercial vehicle applications.

The MAX-LOC Plus assemblies combine several design features characteristic of other Molex products into a single solution, reducing costs and simplifying work compared to conventional industry-standard products. These features include:
• A unique cable gland with an internally segmented design ensures the correct insertion of pre-assembled wire harnesses and pre-crimped terminals, simplifying assembly and on-site maintenance and repair.
• A tapered shielding ring, instead of conventional terminals, establishes a firm and reliable connection that ensures low contact resistance and wire grounding.
• An internal wedge-shaped grommet prevents the ingress of liquid and dust and secures the wire, allowing it to withstand tensile forces of up to 222.4 N (50 lbs).
• Two external mounting holes simplify installation, eliminating the need for two installers; one person can now connect directly to the OEM panel, junction box, or vehicle chassis.
• A pressure nut and a stop ring ensure a firm hold of the cable gland under high vibration conditions.
