Designed as a safe and reliable solution for electric vehicle maintenance, the MSD series of plugs and sockets allows for tool-free disconnection of an internal high-voltage battery pack and provides short-circuit protection. The device uses a two-stage lever system to open the HVIL (high-voltage interlock) circuit before disconnecting the ignition. All high-voltage conductive surfaces on the sockets are protected against contact according to IP2XB standards.
A second range, the Excel-Mate HVSL (High Voltage Safety Lock) series of plugs and sockets, is designed for a wide variety of electric vehicle applications, including power and signal interconnection. The one- to three-way devices, which incorporate the company's RADSOK contact technology, are available with key electrical characteristics, including a voltage rating of up to 1 kV and a current capacity range of 23 A to 350 A.
The third Excel-Mate HVPT series for electric vehicle applications provides a reliable and cost-effective high-voltage pass-through connection. Equipped with a plastic housing and cable glands, this lightweight series meets IP67 standards, offers 360° shielding, handles power up to 1000 V DC, and includes devices offering one-way, two-way, and three-way connections. Multiple coding positions are also available.
Finally, the new Excel-Mate CCS Combo series complies with IEC 62196-3 and allows for charging electric vehicles with either AC or DC power. The Combo socket includes two DC power contacts to provide exceptionally fast charging in public areas. Both the CCS Combo input and the socket are equipped with a temperature sensor and a color LED to monitor charging status and temperature. The Combo series is available in 60, 125, and 200 A options with any required cable length.
