The central power supply modules in the installation handle the electrical supply. Until now, these cost-effective, space-efficient drive controllers were primarily used in EtherCAT-based applications.

STOBER has now expanded its two series with additional PROFINET functions. For enhanced functional safety, the drive experts have developed the optional SU6 safety module for the drive controllers. This provides users with a cost-effective solution for STO and SS1-t safety functions via the PROFIsafe safety protocol. The drive controllers are therefore ideally suited for use in safety-intensive systems up to SIL 3, PL e, Category 4. Engineers can, for example, perform an emergency stop according to EN 13850 or prevent an unexpected start-up according to EN 14118. Furthermore, the communication interfaces of both controllers are PROFINET certified. This certification was obtained following a type examination conducted by the Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (IFA) of the German Federal Accident Insurance Fund (DGUV).
For even complex motion control applications, STOBER now supports connecting drives according to PROFIdrive application classes AC1 and AC3 for speed regulation with rated speed and drive-based positioning. The next step will be application class AC4 for control-based positioning.
The SC6 and SI6 drive controllers can be combined with all STOBER geared motors.
