This series, based on CUI Devices' proprietary capacitive sensing technology, is characterized by its high durability and accuracy, as well as greater resistance to dirt, dust, and oil that can affect other encoder technologies in industrial environments.
The AMT33 switching encoder offers 22 programmable resolutions from 48 to 4096 PPR, low current consumption of 16 mA at 5 V, and supports brushless DC motors with 2, 4, 6, 8, 10, 12, or 20 terminal pairs. Supplied in a compact 42.3 x 42.3 x 13.5 mm package, it offers CMOS or differential voltage-line driver outputs, radial or axial orientation, and a wide operating temperature range of -40 to +125°C. When used with AMT Viewpoint™ software, users can easily configure the encoder resolution, number of terminals, zero position, and rotation direction. This saves valuable development and assembly time compared to optical encoders, whose optical disk must be rotated and precisely checked using back EMF to ensure proper alignment. The digital nature of the AMT33 series reduces the duration of this process to just a few seconds thanks to its One Touch Zero™ function.
More flexibility is also achieved with the AMT33-V kit, which incorporates 9 inner diameter measurements between 9 mm and 15.875 mm (5/8 inch) and simple mounting tools to further facilitate the mounting process on a wide variety of motors.
