Harwin is offering new services for its Gecko series cabling products to support security and mission-critical applications where continuous data integrity is paramount. These made-to-order products provide even greater resistance to electromagnetic interference (EMI) and crosstalk from nearby cabling.
Engineers can now purchase dual-terminated cables with twisted-pair wiring (different colors are applied to each pair for easy identification) or fully shielded mesh sheaths (with metal backing on the connectors). They can also obtain cabling that combines these two mechanisms for maximum protection and improved mechanical robustness thanks to the durable housings used.
These new cable products are designed for Gecko-SL screw-lock connectors. Available versions include female-female, male-female (with standard orientation or reverse locking on the male connector), and male-male (also with standard orientation or reverse locking options). They are also available in female-female, male-female, and male-male versions with the Gecko locking mechanism. For maximum design flexibility, simple termination options are also available in male and female versions. These cables are twisted during manufacturing, so they won't unravel and don't require any clamps or tape on the free end. They can be ordered in lengths up to 10 meters.
Gecko connectors, optimized for use in high-density electronics where space is limited, offer a compact and lightweight alternative to bulkier and heavier Micro-D devices. They are being incorporated into a wide variety of aerospace and defense systems, as well as robotics, satellite, and medical equipment applications, among others. These Harwin wiring products undergo rigorous testing and inspection procedures before delivery to ensure their quality.
